2 x World Paddleboard Champion and Ironman Series Round Winner, Matt Bevilacqua joins Team USANA

Matt first began Life Saving in the southernmost surf club in Tasmania. From there he competed in many state teams for Tasmania and at the young age of 16 he quickly became the youngest athlete to win the Tasmanian Open Ironman title. And if that wasn’t enough Matt continued to win the race three years in a row.  Matt states, “. I wasn’t at first very good but that love my sport made training easy and I improved rapidly, before I knew it I was the first Tasmanian ever to qualify for the Professional Ironman Series and I began flying around the world and still at 24 I am one of the youngest in the Sport ranked 3rd overall and still improving every day.”

Matt believes to show some seriously good results he needs to train every day three times a day and he is continually racing over the weekends and throughout the year to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Matt has a strong love for both USANA supplements and his chosen career in sport, so we’ve taken this opportunity to get to know Matt more:

Q:  How do you compare USANA Nutritional supplements to other supplements and products?

A: Hardly a comparison, I have noticed increased energy levels and recover time between sessions from taking USANA supplements in comparison to trying to mix and match other brands to match what USANA gives me.

Q: What are your future plans? (Long/short term goals)

A: I have massive plans in my sport. I have now come very close to winning the 3 big races in my sport, Australian Ironman Title, Coolangatta Gold and the Ironman Series. I’m approaching the peak in my career (25-30 years old) and I can’t wait to have a crack at them.

Q:  What do you like about USANA Nutritionals or the products you’re taking?  Has there been anything you’ve noticed along the way?

A: I love the accessibility of such a great range of products as well as quality. However, what is also so beneficial is the ease of access and availability while being so busy travelling training and racing. It covers most important aspects of an athlete’s wide range of needs, it’s there when and where you need it every time so you never go without and slide out of routine. You begin to sleep better, remain focused, and recover better.

Q: What are some of your most recent career highlights?

Ironman Series Round Winner 2016

Ironman Series 3rd Overall 2016

2nd Coolangatta Gold 2016

2015 and 2016 World Paddleboard Champion (Hawaii)

QLD Ironman Champion 2015

2nd World Ironman Champion 2014 (France)

3 x Tasmania Ironman Champion

Q:  How do you manage your busy schedule?

A: I have become very organised and good at maintaining routine. If I drift out of routine I will know about it, it becomes a snowball effect of negativity affecting, study, training, racing as well as physical and mental health. Just the USANA HealthPak alone helps so much with this busy schedule, convenient for travelling in prepacked single-serve packets with essential vitamins and minerals. !

Please give Matt a warm welcome to USANA as he believes he is “so privileged to come on as an athlete with Team USANA. As an Ironman competing in 4 different disciplines, it creates an intense and large volume of workload. I need the best products to support me to be able to back up session after session in order to reach my maximum potential. It’s so assuring to know, that I have the best team backing me and I can’t wait to start performing at a whole new level.”
